A Celebration of Art in the Village
At the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit, modern artists inspired by their heroes like Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning will display some of their best work. The unique event takes place at Washington Square Park which is only about half an hour from The Edge Hotel. Artists range from NYU students still mastering their craft to more established veterans of the art world. Regardless of the length of their careers, all of the artists hope to tap into the creative spirit that the Village is famous for. Works run the gamut from paintings and sculptures to photography, jewelry, and even woodcraft. You have multiple opportunities to visit the exhibit, as the show will be open May 26, 27, and 28. It might be a good idea to set aside more than just one day to explore all of the works since there is so much talent on display each year.
