Accommodations for Winter Jazzfest

Music lovers, take note: The next edition of New York City’s Winter Jazzfest, one of the country’s great celebrations of jazz and among the Big Apple’s foremost annual music events, is just around the corner. Now’s the time to book your luxurious boutique guest room at Edge Hotel in Washington Heights so you’ve got prime accommodations for the sonic splendor!

Winter Jazzfest 2019

This season’s Winter Jazzfest runs from Friday, January 4th through Saturday, January 12th, spread across multiple venues in Lower Manhattan. Its first weekend is a “half-marathon” of music; the closing weekend serves up a “marathon” jampacked with shows and sets.

Winter Jazzfest isn’t all that old of an event, but it’s grown impressively since its inaugural, one-day festival back in 2005. Hundreds of performers from around the world take part, and recent Jazzfests have seen an audience on the order of 10,000 strong. In 2015, a JazzTimes survey saw Winter Jazzfest voted the top jazz festival in North America.

The Winter Jazzfest Lineup

Participating artists for the 2019 Winter JazzFest include Leyla McCalla, Alfredo Rodriguez and Pedrito Martinez Duo, Kandace Springs, Billy Hart, Fay Victor, Amina Claudine Myers, Seun Kuti and Egypt 80, Manfred Eicher, David Murray, Pharoah Sanders, Melanie Charles, Yazmin Lacey, Gary Bartz, and Medeski, Martin and Wood and Alarm Will Sound. The festival’s artist in residence is the multitalented and genre-bending Meshell Ndegeocello, who’ll perform multiple nights: January 4th, 5th, 10th, and 11th.
