The days are starting to get a bit shorter, the leaves will start changing any day now, and the temperature is starting to drop. In short, autumn is right around the corner. This fall, be sure to enjoy all of the German-inspired fun at Munich on the East River. This exciting Oktoberfest celebration takes place only about half an hour from The Edge Hotel. Put on by Zum Schneider, NYC’s original Bavarian Bierhaus, the festivities include a fully decorated tent with authentic German furniture, Bavarian favorites like pretzels, bratwursts, and Weisswurst, and of course Oktoberfest beers like HB Traunstein Festbier, Andechs Festbier, and Weihenstephaner Festbier. There will even be a Oompah band stage where live music will be performed throughout the festival. All of the fun takes place from Friday, September 29 through Sunday October 8. Whether you are German or just a big fan of the Oktoberfest season, Munich on the East River is one event you will not want to miss!

For two weeks every year, the Flushing Meadows Corona Park becomes the tennis capital of the world when it hosts the U.S. Open. The incredible National Tennis Center is located just 30 minutes from the Edge Hotel. From August 28 to September 10, you will have the opportunity to watch as tennis greats like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Venus Williams, and Caroline Wozniacki. The U.S. Open is the most attended sporting event in New York which means that you may see a celebrity or two in the crowd. Additionally, there will be live music on the grounds throughout the tournament, plenty of exciting food trucks to try, and even delicious on-site restaurants. Don’t get too caught up in the side activities because you will not want to miss the tennis matches. Whether you sit in the front row or the last row, you will be able to view world class tennis at an amazing venue. You and your family will always remember your unbelievable experience at the U.S. Open.
