Chinese New Year Parade

In the month of February, you have two excellent opportunities to partake in Chinese New Year festivities. 2018 is the year of the dog, and Chinatown in Manhattan will be celebrating with the 19th Annual New Year Firecracker and Cultural Festival on February 16, and the 19th Annual Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade and Festival on February 25. The parade is filled with beautiful dragons and graceful dancers, while area Chinese restaurants serve delicious treats during the accompanying festival. During the firecracker ceremony, over six hundred thousand firecrackers will be lit in order to properly usher in the New Year. All of the action on both days takes place primarily in Chinatown which is about 40 minutes from The Edge Hotel. Chinese New Year and the corresponding festivals, parade, and restaurant offerings has become one of the most looked forward to events in all of New York City, especially during the cold winter months.
