Summer may be winding down, but things at the United Palace are just getting warmed up! Located less than a mile from our Washington Heights hotel, the theater will be hosting Uptown Fashion Week, Washington Heights' contribution to New York Fashion Week, as it returns to the United Palace for three nights, beginning September 9th. Unlike most fashion events that restrict themselves from all but the most exclusive audiences, UFW is opened to the public, and all of the action on the VIP runway will be live-streamed in the theatre for guests to watch on the Palace's 50-foot screen. An MC will provide on stage interviews with the designers and models and behind the scenes coverage of how the show all comes together. So get in touch with your inner fashionista and come check it out! If that wasn’t enough, the Palace will soon be casting for this year’s "Hip Hop Nutcracker," (two of last year’s cast members, Megz Alfonso, who played the Mouse King, and Virgil Gadson, who played Felipe, are finalists on "So You Think You Can Dance?"), and will soon be unveiling the special package of perks for Nutcracker Backers, supporters who purchase the best seats early.
