Shakespeare in the Park
Even though they were written 400 years ago, William Shakespeare’s plays still find a way to resonate with modern audiences. This summer, take advantage of the opportunity to watch one of the Bard’s classics, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, at Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The open-air theater has been home to Shakespeare in the Park since 1962 and is only about 25 minutes from the Edge Hotel. The run of A Midsummer Night’s Dream begins on July 11 and finishes on August 13. Get your tickets early because these performances are extremely popular. Director Lear deBessonet is sure to have his actors and actresses in top form throughout the entire run, so you will see a special performance no matter when you are able to attend. These shows will be performed even if there is a light rain, but sometimes the wet shows lead to the most unforgettable experiences.
